College Commitments

The most rewarding part of the program is seeing young ball players living out their dreams of playing College or Professional Baseball.  Sandlot has just scratched the surface with College and Professional bound players as our program is still relatively new and especially at the age levels of recruited athletes.  As we move forward and utilize our contacts in College and Professional Baseball and open up/recruit to our program the level of talent/potential talent that can benefit from what we provide I think we will see this list of College Baseball players grow very quickly each and every year.

Behind the scenes there is a lot that goes into getting an athlete recruited.  Recruiting is by no means an exact science and many different factors are at work to finally get that offer to play in College.  I have always said this and it was true in my own case when I was recruited and is still true today that you need a strong “advocate” on your side that is respected within the baseball community to help promote your talents.  With the help of others I plan on being that strong advocate for the players in the Sandlot program.  Starting at about 15u we will set up a plan moving forward and adjust each year depending on your 1. Level of play,  2. Grades,  3. Cost of school,  4. Location, and come up with potential schools that are the “best fit” for your particular circumstance and actively pursue it.

With some of our players we have already had a major impact within their recruiting process and some of them have pending offers or are on the cusp of getting offers.  And with other players their play on the field BEFORE they ever wore a Sandlot jersey had the majority to do with their recruiting.  I know there are a few programs that just list every player that have come through the program that went on to College and we will do the same but with a “disclaimer” that there is often many factors at hand to a recruited College Baseball player and our level of significance will be different for almost every player in the program.  Ultimately your level of play, academics and character will have the biggest impact on your baseball future.  With that said we are proud of every player that is advancing to the next level that has worn a Sandlot jersey.  As we move forward our impact on the recruiting process will only increase and I would expect Sandlot to become the major driving force behind our players getting to play at the next level.
